Pathfinder ... Boy does this film suck
Went out last night with some friends for some food and then a movie, the movie that we saw was Pathfinder, why exactly we chose this particular film I don't know but what I do know is that we all suffered through 2 hours of one of the crappiest films I have seen in years (yes its worse than Ultraviolet).
The basic premise of the movie is that Vikings tried to settle North America, slaughtering and enslaving the native americas as they went. But something happend to their expedition and everyone died save one 6 year old kid who is adopted by the natives and raised as their own. Now 15 years later the Vikings return to pillage again and prepare for settlement. Of course as fate has it they just happen to come to the village where the Viking child was raised and after they kill his family he takes revenge and starts a war to kill all of them.
Ya its a weak premise but I have seen a lot of good or half decent movies that had a pretty weak premise. This film like I said was crap, the plot was pretty thing, acting was like watching a pair of stones bob around on the screne, the setting was unbelievable (sorry but the Pacific Coast looks nothing like the Atlantic Coast), the special FX was pretty bad and even the action scenes sucked ass and that's pretty weak considering that was the whole hilite of the film.
The studio, director and writers of this film should be ashamed of themselves for making such crap and passing it off as anything but a direct to DVD release. The next time you read a story about hollywood crying about their theatre revenue dropping off, someone should point them to Pathfinder and say "its because you guys are retarded and are making bullshit movies like this".
Note: During the credits of the movie we noticed a line that stated "based on the movie Pathfinder"... we had to laugh and make a joke that it was the movie inspired by the movie. Sadly it was the only amusement we got out of the whoel film :(
